A genuinely small British school in Ikoyi - the kind where the head knows every child's name by the end of September. If you're self-funding and want the Ikoyi location with class sizes under 20 and a first-class IGCSE track record, LPSS is worth the conversation. Budget carefully for the first-year one-time fees, which add over NGN 2 million on top of tuition.

The right fit for Lekki Phase 1 families who want a small, Cambridge-pathway British school with 25 years of history and class sizes that are well below the Lagos average. Fees are not published online, so budget a call to admissions before you fall in love with the location.

The only true full-boarding secondary school in this Lagos list and one of the most established in Nigeria: 35 years old, COBIS-accredited, 9:1 staff-student ratio and a campus that keeps teenagers genuinely out of Lagos traffic five days a week. If you need boarding rather than just preferring it, Atlantic Hall is in a category of one.

Dowen is a well-known co-ed secondary school in Lekki Phase 1. Day and boarding, ages 11 to 18. Nigerian and British curricula side by side. IGCSE results are genuinely strong year on year, and that is the main reason ambitious Lagos families still put it on the list.

Single-sex, girls only, ages 10-18. Sits in Ikeja (Oregun), so it's mainland — worth knowing if you're settling on the island. Day and boarding both offered. Fees sit in the roughly N2m-N2.7m a session range, day to boarding.

The longest-established Cambridge school on the Lagos mainland and the most affordable option in this shortlist at around NGN 2.5 million per year. Strong IGCSE results and a 35-year track record make it a credible choice for Ikeja-based families who don't need IB or A-Level from the same campus.
