In Brief
The Shri Ram School (TSRS) is the school most Delhi/Gurgaon parents name first when asked which non-CBSE school they want. Two campuses, both in DLF: Aravali (K-12, ICSE only) and Moulsari (6-12, ICSE + IB Diploma). Same DNA, slightly different feel.
Reputation. Long-established Delhi liberal-arts pedigree. Strong on the arts, debate, MUN, social-impact projects. Less of a marks factory than DPS or Heritage's CBSE peers. Round Square member. IB results at Moulsari sit comfortably above the world average and the top of the cohort lands at Yale, Oxford, Penn, Chicago.
What people actually say. Parents are largely happy. The most repeated positives are the teachers, the warmth, and the focus on creative/extracurricular life. According to one parent, "the principal is always approachable" and the school pushes every child to "excel in at least one form of non-academic activity." Staff describe management as supportive and the culture as warm, though they mention the workload is heavy.
Where it gets honest. Admissions are opaque and brutally competitive - around a 4% acceptance rate, parent-child interaction, no published transparent rubric. One parent said the admissions process is "quite non-transparent" and fees aren't published online. Communication with management is fine but slow - "everything is routed through a formal and hence longer process." It is also unmistakably an old-Delhi/old-Gurgaon elite parent body; if your friend wants their child mixing across a wider socio-economic range, this isn't that school.
Aravali vs Moulsari. Aravali has the K-12 continuity and a more settled, homely feel - the campus is smaller, ICSE only. Moulsari is the senior-only campus with the swimming pool, the IB Diploma, and the more international-leaning cohort heading abroad. Current students themselves frame it as "Moulsari is a tender flower, Aravali is an iconic hill" - same school, different vibe.
Bottom line for your friend. If their child fits the TSRS mould - articulate, curious, comfortable in a confident peer group - this is a genuinely strong choice and one of the few Indian schools where the arts and the IB pipeline are both taken seriously. Apply early, expect a parent interview, and do not assume the brand alone gets you in. If the family is leaning IB and global universities, look at Moulsari. If they want one school from age 4 to 18 on ICSE, Aravali.
