A well-regarded CBSE day school in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, founded in 1998. Strong reputation, leafy campus, lots of music/theatre/sports.

The big thing to know: it was set up by the Civil Services Society (spouses of senior bureaucrats) and has historically reserved a large share of seats for children of Group A central government officers. The Delhi High Court struck the quota down in 2015; the Supreme Court stayed that ruling in 2016 and it's still pending. In practice, admissions remain very tough for non-bureaucrat families. According to one parent, "If your husband is IAS/IFS/IPS or minister or you have some high-level contacts, then only think about Sanskriti."

Once you're in, parents and alumni speak warmly. Class sizes are smallish (30-35), arts and co-curriculars are genuinely strong, and one alum said teachers "focus on understanding rather than rote learning" and finish syllabus before exams. The vibe is disciplined, achievement-oriented, a little traditional — not progressive in the Shri Ram / Step by Step sense.

Watch-outs your friend should know about: - Fees have been a running sore point. The school was named in the 2016 Anil Dev Singh Committee report for overcharging, and a proposed 20% + 35% hike during COVID prompted senior civil servant parents themselves to demand a CAG audit. - Senior-grade academic pressure is real, as at most top Delhi schools. - The crowd skews government/diplomatic/defence — fine for some families, a bit insular for others.

Bottom line: if your friend has a realistic admission route, it's a solid, well-run school with great facilities and genuine warmth from staff. If they don't have a civil-service link, set expectations low on getting a seat, and have a backup ready.
