One of the most established schools in Delhi. Big name, big reputation, big campus (around 12 acres in RK Puram, plus a separate sports campus). Known for sending kids to IITs, NEET seats and decent foreign universities. Your friend will hear it called a "top three" Delhi school all day long.

The thing to know: it is intense. Roughly 9,000+ students. The peer group is sharp and competitive, and the culture rewards kids who self-drive. According to one parent comparing it to DPS Vasant Kunj, RK Puram "is better for children who thrive in very high-pressure, target-oriented settings." If your friend's child needs a softer, more nurturing school, this is not it.

Teaching is generally rated as strong, especially in senior classes. Caveat: Delhi's coaching culture is real here. One student wrote that some teachers "don't teach with much interest" because they assume everyone is also at a coaching institute for JEE/NEET. Most parents still rate the teachers highly.

Facilities are a clear strength. Labs, library, sports, music, dance, Olympiads, MUNs, foreign exchanges. If the child wants to do things, the platform exists.

Honest negatives parents and old students mention: it can feel rule-heavy and rigid (one alumni blog called it the place "where reason goes to die" - probably overstated, but the sentiment about strict admin and uniform expectations comes up often), groupism among kids, traffic and crowding around the gates, and a tough adjustment for new joiners, especially if they're not from Delhi.

Bottom line for your friend: send the kid here if they're academically ambitious and resilient in a crowd. If they're sensitive, creative, or need close pastoral attention, look at smaller alternatives in south Delhi.
