The school's been around since 2005 and runs the full IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) plus Cambridge. On paper it's well-credentialled.

The picture on the ground is more mixed than the marketing suggests.

Teacher turnover is the recurring complaint. According to one former staff member, after an IB authorisation cycle "90% of the staff was removed" and replaced with freshers. Another said teachers "are mostly temporary and are terminated frequently." Take individual reviews with a pinch of salt, but the pattern shows up across multiple platforms.

Parent voice is split. Some are warm about the staff and the all-round focus on academics plus sport. Others flag favouritism. One parent said plainly that if "each child is treated equally, the school would be even better." Fees are on the higher side and a few parents feel the value isn't quite there in the upper grades.

Worth noting: aggregate ratings on directory sites look glowing (4.7 stars) but the category-level breakdown on the same pages drops to 2-3 out of 5 on teaching, value, and co-curriculars. That gap is telling.

Practical stuff people actually mention: AC buses are a plus, canteen food gets criticised, Diwali break is short.

Mulund West is a comfortable middle-class suburb in the north-east of the city, well connected on the Central Line but a long way from the south Mumbai expat circuit. If you're settling in Mulund, Thane or Powai, NES is genuinely convenient. If you're aiming for Bandra or south Mumbai, the commute will hurt.

Bottom line for your friend: it's a credentialled IB school that suits families already living north-east. Visit in person, ask pointed questions about teacher tenure in the specific year-group their child would join, and speak to two or three current parents before committing. The school is clearly trying, but ask them directly how they've stabilised staffing.
