In Brief
Two campuses, same group, very different stages of life right now.
Wakra is the more settled bet. It's been running since 2014 and moved into a shiny new build in September 2024 — pool, padel, proper sports hall, the lot. The British inspectors (BSO) called it "excellent" in their 2021 visit. Parents are generally happy: small enough to feel personal, teachers seem to know the kids, the new campus has lifted the mood. According to one parent, "the dedicated staff truly cultivate a love for learning." Don't expect Doha College-level prestige or selectivity — but for most families it does the job, and the new building is a genuine upgrade.
Rawdat Al Hamama is where you need eyes open. It only opened in 2022 and it's still finding its feet. The big recent flashpoint: a midterm fee hike of 30 to 60 percent in late 2025 that landed badly. Parents felt blindsided — by then it's too late in the year to move schools. One parent said the school treated them "with no respect." There's also a specific gripe worth flagging: families were told IB would be available in Year 12 and 13, and have since learned it won't be offered at this campus. If your friend wants IB, ask before signing — don't assume the group's Ain Khaled offer extends here. Several parents say teaching is uneven; one said they teach their child more at home "as I'm afraid she'll lag behind her peers from other competitive schools."
Bottom line for your friend: Wakra is a reasonable, safe choice and the new facility is a real selling point. Rawdat is cheaper and newer but the management feels less mature — get IB confirmed in writing, get fee terms in writing, and ask current parents (not the admissions team) what the last twelve months have actually been like. Same brand, but treat them as two different schools.
