In Brief

The headline. Big, well-resourced IB continuum school (PYP/MYP/DP plus an American Diploma track) on a 15-acre campus in the 5th Settlement. Strong academic outcomes - the 2024 cohort averaged an IB score of 33 with several students above 40, and graduates land at decent universities in the UK, US, Gulf and Egypt.

What people actually say.

The good. Facilities are genuinely impressive - sports, space, modern buildings. Diploma results are among the better ones in Cairo. Character Education is a real thread through the school, not just branding. According to one parent, it is "an excellent school which produces excellent well rounded individuals" and "teachers genuinely care."

The grumbles. They cluster in three places.

1. Lower school supervision. Repeated complaint that younger kids get too little oversight at break. One parent flatly said there is "zero supervision for lower grades." Worth asking about directly on a tour.

2. Inconsistent teaching quality. Strong teachers exist, but parents report the PYP delivery is uneven and feedback on progress can be thin. Staff turnover is real - one teacher described "rock-bottom" morale and several colleagues planning to leave. Ask who is teaching your child's grade and how long they have been there.

3. Admin and communication. The most consistent gripe. Slow email replies, disorganised events, a PTA that some parents find cliquey. The school is big and Egyptian-bureaucratic in feel; expect to chase things.

Cultural fit. Predominantly Egyptian student body (~85%+ local), Arabic and religion are taken seriously, and the social scene is wealthy New Cairo. Expat families do well here but should know it is not an expat bubble like some other Cairo options.

Bottom line for your friend. A solid, ambitious school with real academic substance and good facilities, let down in spots by operations and lower-school care. If their child is in Diploma years and self-motivated, this is a strong pick. If they have a young child, push hard on supervision and teacher continuity before signing.
